With increasing demands on our Toolmaking department in the last year, Martins are addiing to our 5 axis capability with the delivery of a Deckel Maho DMU50 machining centre in January 2012. Complementing the existing facilites on site, the DMU50 is an extremely versatile knuckle bed style machine which will further enhance our capabilites, and with the Deckel range of equipment being well known for its quality and accuracy, our staff are looking forward to getting the best out of the machine. To help in this, the company has also decided to upgrade the CAM software we use as well, by bringing in the class leading Hypermill system. This will also be commissioned in January, to provide more efficient machining strategies for our milling and turning centres. Hypermill integtrates seamlessly with our existing CAD package Solidworks, and enables quicker, cleaner translation of tool designs into real parts, all of which will enhance our ability to deliver challenging geometry into tool designs, and provide the levels of service that our customers need.
