Garlock IFG® (Style 5500) Gasket

Inorganic Fibre GasketsThis inorganic fibre gasket material is designed to offer excellent thermal stability with minimal weight loss, resulting in reduced creep relaxation. The material used for this IFG gasket is manufactured using inorganic fibres and a nitrile rubber binder.

How IFG 5500 Gaskets Work

The non-oxidizing fibres in an inorganic fibre gasket (Gasket IFG 5500) are able to withstand temperature spikes of up to 425°c and an operating temperature of 290°c. The IFG® 5500 material has passed the Garlock Fire Test and our IFG gaskets are also ABS Fire Safe Type Approved.

The Garlock IFG 5500 gasket material is suitable for use within applications such as:

  • Water
  • Aliphatic hydrocarbons
  • Oils
  • Gasoline
  • Saturated steam
  • Inert gases
  • Most refrigerants
