Our in- house facilities and material stocks mean that we can often offer very rapid response lead times, however in terms of meeting customer expectations, it is not just about delivering this kind of class leading service.
In fact, in the current age of Just-In-Time delivery, across a wide range of industry the requirement is for effective planning and this requires deliveries to be consistently on-time-as-promised.
Therefore the structure at Martins revolves around a Supply Team who have all the empowerment necessary to ensure that realistic, customer satisfactory lead times are quoted, and then achieved. We monitor very closely our Delivery Schedule Performance (DSA) as a Director Level KPI, and, whether the lead time is a “while-you-wait” Trade Counter sale, or a scheduled Defence Contract running over some years, all results are analysed and root causes of failed delivery achievement determined so that effective corrective & preventive actions are implemented.
We also offer KANBAN and Consignment stocking services, as well as Kitting from Stock, where we also monitor our delivery performance in the same way, as, by whatever method we deliver, our customers expect us to meet our promised dates or times.
