Types of high temperature gasket materials
There are a number of different types of high temperature gasket materials available for various applications, some of which have been listed below:
Style 9800 High Heat Gasket
This high heat gasket material is composed of carbon fibres with an SBR binder. This particular style of high heat gasket is suitable for use with saturated steam, water, inert gases, mild acids and mild alkalis. The Style 9800 high temperature gasket can endure temperatures of 73°c to +482°c (continuous max 343°c) and up to 2000 PSI.
Style 9850 High Temperature Gasket
The Style 9850 high temperature gasket consists of carbon fibres with a nitrile binder. This high temperature gasket sheet is ideal for ANSI-flanged connectors and turbine crossover piping connectors and is often used in power generation, chemical processing and hydrocarbon processing industries. This particular style of heat resistant gasket is suitable to be used with saturated steam, oils, gasoline, water, aliphatic hydrocarbons and most refrigerants. Similar to the Style 9800, the Style 9850 high temperature gasket can also withstand temperatures of 73°c to +482°c (continuous max 343°c) and up to 2000 PSI.
Style 9900 Heat Resistant Gasket
The Style 9900 high heat gasket is made up of graphite fibres with a nitrile binder and is ideal to be used for ANSI-flanged connectors and turbine crossover piping connectors. This style of gasket is often used in power generation, chemical processing and hydrocarbon processing industries. This high heat gasket material has also passed Garlock fire tests, is ABS Fire Safety Type Approved and is suitable to be used with steam, oils, grease, water and heat transfer fluids. This specific high temperature gasket can withstand temperatures of 73°c to +537°c (continuous max 343°c) and up to 2000 PSI.
