As rubber specialists, at Martin’s Rubber, we supply a whole range of punched, cut, extruded, sheet and fabricated silicone rubber gaskets.
What is a silicone gasket?
Silicone rubber gaskets are high-performance mechanical seals with an exceptional resistance to extreme temperatures. Silicone gaskets are used to prevent leaks between different substrate sections in a wide range of applications. As a leading expert in the rubber gasket industry, at Martin’s Rubber we have the facilities to be able to manufacture standard gasket and washer sizes, as well as custom parts in-house, each of which are constructed from the highest quality silicone gasket material.
For further information on silicone rubber gaskets, please read through our silicone rubber gasket datasheet (material specification).
Silicone gasket uses
Our silicone rubber gaskets have an excellent temperature resistance in both hot and cold environments. They have outstanding UV and ozone properties which makes them suitable for outdoor applications. Being an inert material, silicone generally does not react to the majority of chemicals, which means that it is popular for use within medical and industrial applications.
Food grade silicone gasket material
We also stock gaskets in silicone which are suitable for use in food applications. All food grade silicone gasket materials that we supply are FDA compliant and they perform well under extreme temperatures.
Silicone aircraft gaskets
At Martin’s Rubber, we can manufacture gaskets using silicone gasket materials that meet Boeing and Airbus FAR/JAR specifications where required, which means that our silicone rubber gaskets are great for use as aircraft gaskets.
Our silicone gasket range also includes:
- Insertion silicone gaskets
- Platinum cured silicone rubber gaskets
- Metal detectable silicone gaskets
- Silicone rubber gaskets with 40° hardness
- Flame retardant silicone gasket grades
Silicone gasket temperature range
One of the many extraordinary properties of gaskets in silicone material is that they are extremely resilient and can uphold a lot of their properties at very high and low temperatures. The low temperature properties of a silicone gasket are unmatched by any other elastomer. In fact, our silicone rubber gaskets can remain flexible at temperatures between -60°C to +230°C. This makes our silicone gasket material the ideal material for applications exposed to such extreme temperatures.
