Martins staff go Karting

Paul Elliott & Simon Dolan of Martin’s recently took part in the Lambert Brothers annual karting Grand Prix at the Eastleigh indoor track, with mixed fortunes… Paul made it through to the final and finished in 7th whilst Simon took a spin in the semi and that was the end for him. It was a competitive evening and on best lap times Paul did 27.610 secs while Simon managed 28.475 secs. However analysis showed that throughout the evening his laptimes deteriorated, and whilst he claimed that some kind of mechanical defect on the Kart was slowing him up, it was also observed that he kept revisiting the pizza spread between races…… Karting is meant to be a non contact sport….but apparently not for Paul; if you can’t overtake the person in front then ram them into the side….. but  all in all a great evening and Simon has a nice bruise on his back as a souvenir…   Author: Paul Elliott Date: 15th May 2012
